Carl Jackson Ward, born in Woodland, Mississippi, passed away at the age of 82 on July 31, 2024 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Carl was a faithful member at Colonial Baptist Church until his passing. He loved gospel music, often helped organize "gospel music singings", and ministered to nursing home residents with gospel music. Not only did he dedicate his time to serving in the house of the Lord, he served his country in the Army National Guard.

The Vardaman High School graduate was a sports fan who enjoyed football and basketball, and he also enjoyed playing Rook. He enjoyed a successful sales career with several different companies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Maylon Ward; and his sister, Virginia Vanlandingham.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Ann Ward; brother, George Ward (Susan); sister, Joann Ward James; with several sister and brothers -in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He always maintained a positive attitude, and his smile and enthusiasm will be greatly missed!

Service will be Monday, August 5, 2024 at 1:00 at Colonial Baptist Church.
