Carol Jean Benson Holliday of West Memphis, AR, died in Marion, AR April 30, 2021 after short stay in hospice.  Born in Detroit, MI on April 16, 1945 to Benjamin and Ethel Ross Benson, the family moved back to Mississippi and she graduated from Coldwater High School, Coldwater, MS. She was married to Allen Holliday in 1964.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents and sister Pattye Benson Overall and brother Fred Benson.

Carol leaves behind Allen Holliday, her husband of 57 years.  She also leaves behind daughters Pattye Holliday of Cordova, Kelley Holliday Cooney (Terry) of Millington and son Jason Holliday of Moore, Ok; she also leaves behind  sister Glenda Houston of Germantown and  brother Jerry Benson of McGhee,  AR.

She was retired as a medical transcriptionist/secretary. She took care of the local stray cats with a shelter on the porch & overflowing food bowls that were sometimes robbed by the occasional racoon.

Funeral will be at 1pm, Monday May 10th and a graveside service will follow at 2pm at Forest Hill South, Memphis, TN.
