Carolyn Ann Barnett, lovingly known as Ricky or as Mamaw to those who loved her, left to be with her Savior Sunday morning, April 11, in Memphis. She was 83.
Ricky grew up in Memphis the youngest of seven siblings. She and her husband John "Red" Estes Barnett Sr. met as teenagers and were married for 57 years. She attended Frazier High School and worked until her retirement with Leader Federal Bank.
She was a devoted wife and mother to her only son John. She enjoyed dancing with the love of her life and hosting many a pool party. She loved going to the movies and cheering for the Memphis Tigers and Tennessee Vols. Her travels took her across the country and her favorite trip was an Alaskan cruise with Red.
She was a lifelong and faithful member of Decatur Trinity Baptist Church. She had a famous sweet tooth that she passed on to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She loved her family fiercely and held all of her extended family together. Those close to her could count on a daily phone call to "get the scoop."
