Obituary

A Life Lovingly Remembered

Carolyn Gammon Ivy was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on September 24, 1928, and went home to be with the Lord on October 10, 2026.

Carolyn married the love of her life, Curtis Ivy, after skipping school for the first time. She was a devoted homemaker who raised three wonderful boys. As the boys grew older, she drove a school bus. Once her sons were grown, Carolyn returned to school, earned her bachelor's degree in Education, and taught English-something she truly loved.

Her favorite place in the world was Maui. She and Curtis enjoyed more than thirty summers there together.

Carolyn is now rejoicing in heaven with her loving husband, Curtis Kyle Ivy; her parents, Geraldine and Arlan; her siblings Patsy, Marilyn, Jimmy, Ronnie, and Bobby; her daughter-in-law Patti Ivy; her granddaughter Jamie Ivy Villaronga; and her great-granddaughter Lea Brooke Holler.

She is survived by her three sons: Curtis Janet) Ivy, John Ivy, and Timothy (Lynda) Ivy; her siblings Mary Alice (Jack) Malone, Jack (Sylvia) Gammon, and Joe Gammon; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great-grandchildren.

Carolyn lived a long and full life, marked by love, learning, and a deep faith that carried her from a Memphis classroom to the shores of Maui and, at last, home. She leaves behind a family tree with roots as deep as her devotion, and the memory of a woman who never stopped growing.
