Carolyn Sue Riffe was born on March 6, 1938 in English, West Virginia to Melvin Walter Payne and Ruth Elizabeth Payne. She graduated from Big Creek High School, earned her BS degree in Education from Concord College in Athens, West Virginia, and her master's degree from the University of Memphis. She taught school for 50 years and also enjoyed teaching Sunday school and Children's church for many years. Carolyn treasured her time with her family and friends, ministering to all she came in contact with. She was an active member of Cornerstone Church in Southaven. Her legacy of faithfulness to serve God will forever be inscribed in the hearts of all those who loved her. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Douglas Riffe and her son, Melvin Douglas Riffe.  Carolyn is survived by her daughter-in-law, Elaine Riffe of Lake Cormorant, MS; grandchildren, Bill Riffe (Dee Dee) of Southaven, MS and Tish Hunt (Lawrence) of Nesbit, MS; and great-grandchildren Branden Holly, John Ellis Hunt, and Hudson Hunt. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 14, at 12:30 at Cornerstone Church in Southaven, MS. A private, family only graveside service will be held at Forest Hill South Cemetery in Memphis, TN.
