IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carolyn Wynell
Wicinski
November 27, 1933 – February 15, 2026
Early on the afternoon of February 15, 2026, Carolyn "Wynell" Wicinski was reunited with her husband in heaven. Another alto voice was added to the heavenly chorus.
Born Carolyn Wynell Johnson on November 27, 1933, in the small town of Philadelphia, MS, she grew up on a small farm outside of town. After leaving there, she headed for Memphis, TN, where she met Clemens "Ski" Wicinski. About three months later he changed her last name. She worked at PPG for many years, and later with Ski at Power & Telephone Supply. They managed the distribution center in Fort Wayne, IN. Then later she worked in the Purchasing Department in Memphis.
She was the organist at Sky View Baptist Church in Frayser, where she played as Ski directed the music. That went on from the early 60's on into the late 70's. As their musical life progressed, they formed the trio, Shekinah, with Rosetta Hollowell, spreading the gospel through song around the Midsouth.
Wynell was an excellent Christian mother to her children. She showed how a marriage should work to its best by her love and commitment to Ski. She sewed clothes for her kids when they were younger, did cross-stitch and quilted some. As with a lot of women born in the South, her cooking was excellent. She cherished the many, many friends from her high school days, her early days in Memphis, her fellow employees and those from her church memberships. At the time of her death she was a member at Ellendale Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clemens Wicinski, her parents, C.B. & Bonnie Kate Johnson, and a nephew, Randy Oliphant.
She leaves behind her son Michael Wicinski (Marilyn), grandson John-David Wicinski (Lizzy) & great-grandchildren Kennedy & Kaylee. A granddaughter, Jennifer and great granddaughter Autumn. She also leaves a daughter Sheryl Radicioni (Armando) and a granddaughter Kelsey Reeder (Lizzie). Also her sister, Annette McDonald (Charlie) from Pensacola, FL. Her brothers, Murray Johnson (Charlotte) from Philadelphia, MS, and Jerry Johnson (Kathy) from Vicksburg, MS. There are also numerous nieces and nephews who thought the world of her.
