Celeste E. Dawkins, 85, died at Poplar Oaks Nursing Home in Collierville on August 25, 2017. She was born in Memphis and lived in Olive Branch, MS for several years. She was a member of Getwell Rd. United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Rhodes and Celeste H. Rhodes; Robert N. Dawkins, her loving husband of 35 years; her brother, Sam Rhodes II; and her sister, Natalie Johnson. She is survived by her 8 children: Phyllis Nuccio of Metairie, LA, Vincent Wrenn of Ashville, NC, Teresa Purkeypile of Eureka Springs, AR, Greg Wrenn of Ashville, NC, Angela Wrenn of Long Beach, CA, Yvonne Istvanko of Collierville, TN, Anthony Wrenn of Munford, TN, Jenny Harris of Gilbert, AZ, and step-daughter, Karin Mischler of Germany. She also leaves 23 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, August 28, 2017 from 5-7 pm with a funeral service Tuesday morning at 10:00 am. All services and interment will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, East on Whitten Rd. The family requests that in lieu of lowers a donation be made to the Bright Focus Foundation for Alzheimer''s Disease research.
