Charlene G. Salter, 78, of Southaven, MS, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, May 12,2025. She was born on August 31, 1946, to parents Charles H. and Mildred S. Givens, in Memphis TN. Charlene worked as a medical transcriptionist at St. Francis Hospital for many years. Charlene loved sports, but most of all loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Charlene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard Salter and her son Eric Salter, as well as her sister, Elizabeth Givens. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters, Melissa Salter of Southaven and Melissa (Bill) Gates of Huffman, TX. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Tyler Salter of Philadelphia, MS, Lauryn Fitzgerald of Southaven, MS, and Jessica (James) Hayden of Huffman, TX. She also leaves her great-granddaughters, Makenzie and Makayla Hayden of Huffman, TX. She has three surviving siblings, sisters Mildred (Jimmy) Williams of Sherwood, AR, and Debra Trull of Memphis, TN. and a brother, Charles (Cathy) Givens, II of Memphis, TN. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Charlene was loved by so many and will forever be in our hearts. There will be a Celebration of Life at Desoto Hills Baptist Church in Southaven, MS on June 7, 2025, at 11 A.M.
