Charlene G. Yarbrough, 68, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 20, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. Charlene was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all. Her sweet spirit has touched many lives and made this world a better place. All who were close to her knew her to be always loving, patient and gentle. She served as caregiver for many years to her husband who also has cancer. A lifelong homemaker, her favorite title was grandmother - she loved spending time with and caring for her grandchildren. A great woman of faith, Charlene walked closely with her Lord in prayer and in studying His Word. She enjoyed playing the piano each week for her Sunday School class at LaBelle Haven Baptist Church where she was a member for many years. Her favorite activities included reading, crocheting, playing with her cat, and traveling with family and friends. Charlene will be deeply missed by her beloved husband of 50 years, Loyd Yarbrough; their children, Chantel (Bruce) Payne and Josh (Tabitha) Yarbrough; five grandchildren, David Payne, Daniel Payne, Amber Yarbrough, Andrew Yarbrough, and Ashlyn Yarbrough; a sister, Sherry (Dwayne) Ivie; and many other family and friends. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Marie. She will be remembered as a bright and shining light in her family and in her church. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Thursday, January 22 at Forest Hill Funeral Home located at 2440 Whitten Road. Funeral services will be held at LaBelle Haven Baptist Church located at 4800 Highway 305 in Olive Branch, MS on Friday, January 23 at 10 a.m. with Jim Butler officiating. The burial service will follow in Memory Hill Gardens located at 3700 N. Germantown Rd.
