Charles Richard Jamison, 70, also known as Dickie by his family, passed away in Memphis, TN, on June 10, 2020.  He was born November 6, 1948, in Memphis, TN to Carl Sr. and Mary Jane Jamison.  Charles grew up in Shelby County and attended Westwood High School.  After school, he enlisted in the United States Army where he attended training at Ft. Benning, GA and Ft. Sill, OK.  Charles served in Bad Kitzinger, Germany in a mechanized artillery unit.  He was subsequently transferred back to Ft Lewis in Washington State. Charles was tragically injured while stationed at Ft Lewis in 1968 and was medically retired as a 100% disabled veteran.  Injuries sustained during his accident affected him the rest of his life, however, all who knew him recognized him as a fighter.  His severe disabilities never prevented him from working to serve others. Charles served for many years as a volunteer auxiliary probation officer helping troubled children and teens remain in school and guiding them to make better life choices.  He also volunteered in many hospitals throughout the Memphis Metro area.  His 33 years of service to others in hospitals were expressed through numerous roles; always helping others through compassion and love. Charles married early in life and had one daughter, Tonya Lee.  He found the true love of his life in middle age in his current wife Vicki.  Vicki was to Charles a picture of the Virtuous Woman spoken of in God's Holy Word in Proverbs 31. Vicki cared for his every need and stood beside him in life through many sicknesses and setbacks.  She was by his side when he left this life and entered into the Lord's arms.  He was a believer in Christ Jesus as his Lord and Savior.  He was a member of Bartlett Baptist Church and the Helping Hands connect group.  Charles was a fun-loving guy who loved to watch wrestling, or as he called it "raslin" on TV. He also loved to listen to Southern Gospel music, especially the Gaithers. Charles was preceded in death by his father and mother, Carl Sr and Mary Jane Jamison and one brother, Carl, Jr.  He is survived by his wife of 28 years Vicki, daughter Tonya Lee, sister, Carol Ann Doucette (Barry), brother, Jack Jamison (Sue), niece, Mechelle Doucette, nephews Michael Doucette, Joshua, Jeremiah, and Jacob Jamison, and numerous, great-nieces and nephews.  Charles' zany wit and charm will be sorely missed by all until we reunite in Glory.
