Charles David Whitten, 75 of Collierville, TN, went home to be with the Lord on June 18, 2022.  He was born on August 27, 1946, and grew up in Selmer, Tn. He joined the Air National Guard Reserves as a young man, then married his wife of 55 years, Carol Markle Whitten, in August 1966.  David worked for many years in the Food Brokerage/Sales business, and retired from Acosta, Inc in 2012, and the Kroger Co. in 2016. He was a follower of Jesus all of his life, loved gospel music, and was a member of Collierville First Baptist Church. David loved his family, and loved spending time doing anything that involved his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching westerns, having coffee with his friends, telling jokes, and reminiscing about Old Collierville.

Mr. Whitten was preceded in death by his parents, Slater and Sevella Whitten, and a son Charles Gregory Whitten.  He is survived by his wife Carol, a daughter, Kim (Hale), a son, Kevin (Julie), and 5 grandchildren, Weston Driver, Gracie Driver, Jackson Whitten, Chloe Driver, and Brooklyn Whitten. He also leaves 3 sisters, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
