Charles Thomas Yarwood, Sr., 92, the beloved husband of Martha Virginia Grantham Yarwood has gone to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his parents and sister. Charles was a long time member of Bartlett United Methodist Church and served our country in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Mr. Yarwood retired from his business, Southeastern Lumber Company, at age 63 to enjoy his interests as an avid golfer, coin and stamp collector, researching family genealogy as well as having compiled a list of thousands of books that he had read. Charles and Virginia enjoyed traveling all over the world together and with friends during their retirement. Mr. Yarwood is survived by his wife, Virginia, his son, Charles (Charlie) Thomas Yarwood, Jr., his daughter-in-law, Teresa Hammons Yarwood, his daughter, Susan Yarwood Mitchell, his son-in-law, Chauncey Thompson (Tom) Mitchell, Jr., his grandchildren, Kelly Rebecca Yarwood and her husband, Chase Jerome Gustafson, and Christopher Kevin Vaughan all of Lakeland, Tennessee, his brother Lee Southern Yarwood and his wife, Louise Yarwood, of Olive Branch, Mississippi. Charles enjoyed his Saturday visits with his friends at McDonalds for coffee. Charles'' sense of humor and wit stayed with him all his life and he was loved and respected by everyone who ever met him. He will be missed forever. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 27 until service begins at 11 a.m. at Bartlett United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Forest Hill East Cemetery.
