C.D. (Chester) Johnson, born August 13, 1923, in Water Valley, MS, passed
away on March 22, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind
a son, James K. Johnson; and two daughters, Janet West (Larry) and Joy Pillow.
He also leaves six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, seven great-
great grandchildren, and his devoted care givers, Leola Biles and Maria
Torres. All loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Elizabeth Neal Johnson.
He was a WW2 veteran and served in the Army-Airforce.
He was retired from Sears and Roebuck where he worked as a manager of
two catalogue sales stores; in the maintenance department at Sears
Crosstown; and property leasing out of Atlanta, GA. He golfed with his wife
and friends for many years and loved boating at Pickwick and in FL.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or
to a memorial of choice.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 3, from at 1:00, with funeral services
to follow at 2:00. Services will be at Forest Hill East Funeral Home; 2440
