Southaven - CHESTER THOMAS, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013. He was a retired superintendent of maintenance for Shelby County Schools for 39 years. He was a member of Longstreet United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie P. and Bessie Thomas, and his sister, Annie Ruth Rainey. He is survived by his wife, Jean of 60 years; a son, Mike Thomas (Terry); a daughter, Becky Gwyn (Phil); grandchildren, Gary Gwyn (Stacey), Laurie Brennan (Justin), Brian Thomas (Melinda), Kevin Gwyn (Mandy), Beau Thomas (Jeanna); and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, February 16 at 9 a.m. at Forest Hill South, with services at 10 a.m., and burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor''s choice.
