Christel M. Haynes, 93, formally of Olive Branch, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2016, in Powell, Tennessee. Christel was born March 14, 1923, in Independence, Mississippi, she was the fourth of eight children born to Kyle and Effie Meredith. She is predeceased by parents, beloved husband, Ralph, brothers, Doris (Doc) and Lee Meredith, sisters, Olive McCollum and Evelyn Hall. Chris leaves to cherish her memory, sons Jim and wife Bobbie, Raymond and wife Vickie, daughter Becky and husband Dr. David Clark. She also leaves eight grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; sisters, Prudie Moss and Mildred Hayek, brother Calvin, sister in law Dot Moore, many nieces, nephews and friends, and special "daughter" Lori Palmer. Her extended family at Windsor Gardens Assisted Living in Knoxville will miss her so much, especially best friend, Alyce Pickens. Thank you to all who knew and loved Chris and who took special care of her during her last week: U.T. Hospice and Maple Court Senior Memory Care, Powell. Visitation will start at 9:30 AM on Thursday, July 7at Forest Hill South with service at 11a.m., conducted by Doug Seaton, and burial to follow immediately afterward.
