Obituary

Christian Shea Compton was born on November 14, 1996, in Memphis, TN. His life tragically ended in a car accident on May 31, 2020, near Hernando, MS at the age of 23. He was living in Olive Branch, MS at the time of death.

Christian began Pre-K at Sacred Heart School in Southaven, MS, where he loved playing soccer, basketball, and golf. He attended high school at Northpoint Christian in Southaven, MS for two years and transferred to Marshall Academy in Holly Springs, MS, where he graduated in 2015. While at Marshall Academy Christian helped Marshall Academy to a 37-5 overall record as a senior, earning the Patriots state and MAIS overall championships. He received numerous accolades, including All-MAIS First Team, all-district and all-conference honors, as well as playing in the MAIS All-Star basketball game. Christian was also a member of the Marshall Academy golf state championship team his senior year and was a wide receiver and kicker for the Patriot football team. As a member of the football team, Christian received first-team ALL-MAIS honors as a kicker.

Christian went on to attend Northwest Community College for two years and was a member of the Ranger basketball team, he then transferred to Mississippi State for his junior year and majored in criminal justice. Christian had ambitions of becoming a police detective. He was in his senior year at the time of his death.

Christian had a passion for over-sized, souped-up trucks. He was known to spontaneously break out in song and dance for his friends entertainment. He enjoyed spending his leisure time near the water. He loved his family, friends, sports, and God. Christian has touched many lives and amassed a great number of friends. He was a member of Heartland Church.

Christian is predeceased in death by his grandfather Gary Compton, Green Forest, AR.

Christian is survived by his mother, Stephanie Knight Compton of Southaven, MS. His father, Micheal Shane Compton of Green Forest, AR. His siblings, Cheyenne Compton from Southaven, MS, Brayden, and Kason Compton from Green Forest, AR, and Brock and Jacey Waddell from Olive Branch, MS. He leaves behind his grandparents, Karon Compton of Springdale, AR, Barbara Knight of Southaven, MS, and Mike and Kelly Knight of Red Banks, MS.

Forrest Hills Funeral Home- Midtown in handling arrangements located at 1661 Elvis Presley Blvd. Memphis, TN . Visitation is Thursday, June 4, 2020, from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM. A private funeral for immediate family and close friends will be held Friday, June 5, 2020, at 2:00 PM.
