Obituary

Christopher “Root” Alan Ferrell, 43, passed away on August 7, 2026. Born July 12th, 1983 to Lisa Carol and Joseph Ferrell, he leaves behind a life marked by passion, loyalty, friendship, and a love for the people and things that brought him joy.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Lisa C. Ferrell. He is survived by his father, Joseph Ferrell, his beloved fiancee Jennifer Lloyd and her four sons, best friends and mentors Pete Hubbard and Don McCommon, as well as the many friends who were like family and loved ones who will carry his memory forward.

Chris worked as a salesman for West Tennessee Ornamental Door, where he built relationships with the same genuine warmth and determination that he brought to every part of his life. It was there that he found one of his best friends, Dave Bowman.

His greatest passion was building and racing motorcycles. For Chris, motorcycles were about far more than machines, speed, and competition. They became a way of life—a place where he could create, challenge himself, and share his passion with others. Through the motorcycle racing community, Chris created a family of his own within that special group of people. The friendships he formed through racing were deeply meaningful to him, and the people who shared those experiences with him became an important part of his life and his story.

Chris will be remembered for the passion he poured into the things he loved, the friendships he cultivated, and the people whose lives he touched simply by being himself. His absence will be felt not only by those who knew him best, but by the community of people who came to call him family.

Chris lived with passion. He loved fiercely. He found family in unexpected places and left pieces of himself in the hearts of the people fortunate enough to know him.

His life was far too short, but the love, memories, friendships, and legacy he leaves behind will continue to live on.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered.
