Christopher
Mccutchen
Jun 15, 1945 — Jul 19, 2019
On Friday, July 19th, 2019, Christopher McCutchen passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family. Chris was born on June 15, 1945 in Memphis, TN to Santa Maria Esgro. Upon graduating from Humes High school, a star football player, he married his high school sweetheart, Vickie. Together, they raised their two children, Renee and Todd.
Nothing was more important than family, as he often would tell stories from his youth, having grown up with 6 brothers and sisters. Outside of his home, he was always very dedicated to being a small business owner and entrepreneur. He was vastly proud of his company, UpLink Telecommunications, and could often be seen driving all around town meeting clients. Throughout his life, he often boasted how "rich" he was, due to the love and support he was always surrounded by; as such, he dedicated nearly every waking moment to giving back to everyone around him. He was happiest when his friends and family were succeeding, and loved eating at buffets to celebrate. He will always be remembered for his jovial spirit and humorous storytelling, especially when it came to his love of fishing and being on the lake.
Chris is survived by his two children, Renee Mullins and Christopher Todd McCutchen; grandchildren Matthew Mullins, C.J. McCutchen, Tyler Epps, and Mary Beth Houston; sisters Mary Garrow, Beatrice, Dillard, and Delores Bishop; brother Al McCutchen; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his adored Yorkshire Terrier, Julie.
The family will receive friends at the Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home, 6755 Highway 51 North, on Monday, July 21, from 11-1. Service will immediately follow.
