Clarence Daniel Dowty, 93, died Sunday, May 12, 2024.

Daniel was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Hermie Morgan Dowty, and a sister, Hazel Huffman (Herbie). He leaves a daughter, Alice White (Pat); a son, Dan Dowty (LeAnn); five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, David Dowty (Peggy), and two sisters, Gladys Wilhite (Larry) and Gracie McAlister (Clint).

Daniel served in the U. S. Armed Forces from 1951 to 1953 and was stationed in Germany. Raised in Grand Junction, TN, Daniel spent much of his working life in Memphis, TN as a truck driver. He spent his later years in Moscow, TN, where he enjoyed keeping and riding horses. He particularly enjoyed riding in the field trials for the National Championship for Bird Dogs on the Ames Plantation every year. While in Moscow, Daniel was an active member of Moscow Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Moscow Wesleyan Methodist Church in Moscow, TN.
