CLARENCE WILLIAM JAMES, 78, of Nesbit, MS, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away February 4, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital DeSoto. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years and mother of his two children, Patricia Ann James. Clarence, known by many as "Sonny", was born to Luke and Annie James, October 29, 1933, in Flora, MS. He was a graduate of Whitehaven High School and the University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in agriculture. He was a U.S. Army veteran and for more than 40 years worked for Illinois Central Railroad as a general yardmaster, the second of three generations of railroad workers. Mr. James is lovingly remembered by his wife, Gloria Jean; son, Keith; daughter, Jana; brother, Bobby; sister, Jean; grandchildren, Ashley, Taylor, and Breanna; and countless other family and friends. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Thursday, February 9, with services to follow at 10 a.m., all at Forest Hill South Funeral Home. Interment will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery.
