Claudia Mauldin Poole, 83 formerly of Memphis, died July 27, 2015 at North Delta Hospice House in Southaven, MS. In her "heyday" Claudia was a local Realtor and Home Builder in Memphis, TN. She was the first licensed woman Builder to graduate from the Memphis Home Builders Institute along with only two men. Her homes were featured in Architect Magazine. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Poole, Sr. of Memphis and her children: Gene Poole, Jr. of Southaven, MS, Jennie Poole of Memphis and James Poole of Memphis, her parents, Hugh and Era Mauldin, formerly of Steele, MO, two sisters, Marlette Weimar of Lucy, WA, and Shirley Ausburn of Paris, TX, plus six half siblings who are all deceased. She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Richard) Moor of Hernando, MS; daughter-in-law, Patricia (Gene "Butch") Poole of Horn Lake, MS; eight grandchildren: Christy Devereaux of Southaven, MS, Mary Claudia (Shaun) Abram of Memphis, TN, Jessica Poole of Horn Lake, MS, Gene (Bethany) Poole, III of Southaven, MS, Lynn (Louie) Shikles of Oakland, TN, James (Glinda) Battistelli and Gene (Heather) Battistelli of Missoula, MT and Richard (Jamie) Moor, Jr. of Hernando, MS. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and one brother, Benny (Nora) Mauldin of St Louis, MO. She was a 5 year loved resident of Senatobia Convalescent Center (MS) until her illnesses overtook her in early July. Visitation and Funeral Services will be at Forest Hill South (E. Holmes Rd.), Memphis TN. Visitation will be Sunday, August 2, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Funeral Service will be Monday, August 3, at 10 a.m. at the same location.
