Cody Brandon Stephens, 29, of Bartlett, Tennessee, passed away on February 8, 2017. He was born August 11, 1987 in Memphis, TN to Tim and Sharon Lynn Stephens. Growing up, Cody was a happy and joyous child. He succeeded in everything he did. His strive to be the best was what drove him to a competitive spirit. Along his path, Cody made some unfortunate decisions that affected everyone that was blessed enough to know his love and pain. The decision lead him to many years of struggle with addiction, ultimately causing him to loose his life. While we are extremely sad to see him go, we are thankful and relieved that his struggle is over. He is now at rest. He now has peace. We would like to thank all of our friends and family for their support throughout the ups and downs of his addiction. It is because of each of you and our Heavenly Father that we have the strength that we do today. Cody is survived by his son Tristian Stephens, Tristian''s mother Emily Coltharp, parents Sharon & Tim Stephens, brothers Aubrey & Cameron Stephens, sister Cayce Stephens Fair, three nephews, two nieces, and grandmother Alice Fay Franks. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, February 12 and service 10 a.m. Monday, February 13 at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, East. Interment will be in Memphis Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions are requested to The Salvation Army - Adult Rehabilitation Center, 2649 Kirby Whitten Road, Memphis, TN, 38133 or contribute to a fund for the future of his son Tristian through www.gofundme.com/honoring-codysupporting-tristian.
