Obituary

Colleen Belue Apple, age 94, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2018 at Methodist LeBonheur Hospital in Germantown, TN. She was born in Holcut, Tishamingo County, MS on September 17, 1923 to Laura B. Phifer Belue and Raymond Preston Belue.

Colleen was a member of First Baptist Church in West Memphis, AR. Affectionately known to her grandchildren as " MaMaw", she was a kind-hearted woman of great strength. MaMaw loved her children and her favorite thing was gathering the family for holiday dinners and cooking the best turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes, and lemon pie. She enjoyed the fellowship of friends, FBCWM JOY Seekers, gardening, watching golf and NASCAR on TV. She was a ten-year resident at The Village at Primacy Parkway in Memphis, TN where she was elected Sweetheart Queen and was an avid bingo player.

Mrs. Apple was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Lealon Belue, Norvil Cecil "Bud" Belue, Aubry Cleates Belue; three sisters, Nell Belue Parson, Della Lee Belue Davis, Nancy Elizabeth "Tinie" Belue Vaughan McCain; two husbands, Joe Robert Youngman, Julian Agee Apple; and daughter-in-law Frances Juadene Headley Youngman.

She is survived by two sons, James Edward Youngman of Memphis, Harold Lee Youngman (Billie) of Olive Branch, MS; one daughter, Katie Colleen Apple of Collierville, TN; and one brother, Johnny Ray Belue of Winona, MS. MaMaw leaves five grandchildren, Ginger Lynn Youngman Moore (Mike), Amanda Jill Youngman Clement (Robert), Harold "Lee" Youngman, William Leslie Youngman (Shelly), Joseph Lane Youngman (Tonja): eight great grandchildren, Kasey Stafford (Stephen), Kristin Clement, Bryan Clement, Chase Youngman, Hunter Youngman, Hayden Youngman, Brooke Youngman, and Spencer Jones; and many loving family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Crossroads United Methodist Church, 9315 E. Shelby Dr., Collierville, TN. The funeral will immediately follow with Rev. Dr. Birgitte T. French officiating with private burial in Forest Hill Memorial Park Midtown, Memphis, TN.

Memorial gifts may be given to CrossRoads United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church West Memphis, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
