DAVID H. DUKE, 64, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 after a lengthy illness. David always had a knack for keeping people amused, whether he was hamboning (his specialty), playing jokes, or telling stories. He was especially proud of his early career as an ironworker where he gained his nickname, "Iron Duke". He later became a maintenance mechanic at Solae for over 30 years. David is survived by his wife Nancy; daughter, Amy Bannerman (Dana); sons, Micah Zane Duke and David Slade Duke, and grandchildren, Brooks and Brinley Bannerman. He also leaves a brother, Mark Duke of Jacksonville, FL. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and his beloved sister, Jane Jumper. We will celebrate and honor his memory on Thursday, February 13 at Forest Hill East. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. with the Memorial Service to immediately follow.
