Obituary

David Lee Jones, 77 , of Olive Branch, MS , departed this life on November 27, 2019 after a brief illness.  He was born on December 16, 1941 in Memphis, TN.  After graduating from Oakhaven High School in Memphis, he attended Henri's School of Cosmetology .  For the next 58 years, David enjoyed a career in cosmetology that he dearly love d . Even at 77 years old he was still working 5 days a wee k--- because he so loved his work, each of his clients and all of his co-workers.

David was a devout Christian and was a founding member of Living Word Christian Church for the past 25 years. He attended regularly until his recent decline and fervently loved all of his church family as was evident by his active support and lending a helping hand wherever it was needed.

David was known and cherished—and will be forever remembered---for his twinkling blue eyes, his beautiful head of hair, his huge loving heart, his silly sense of humor, his infectious laugh, his compassion for all , his humble nature, his wisdom, his fierce loyalty , his love of this life and his TREMENDOUS love of family & friends.

David was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Jones; his mother, Helen Francis Curlin; and his brother, Glenn Allen Jones .  He is survived by his two sisters, Linda L. Marshall & Cynthia Curlin-Barrett (Duncan); and three brother s , Raymond Jones (Dianne), Charlie Phillips, and John Andrew Curlin .  He also leaves behind four ni eces, four nephews and 10 great nieces & nephews all of whom were greatly adored by him .

Visitation will begin at 10 am on Thursday, December 5 at Forest Hill-Midtown , 1661 Elvis Presley Blvd, in Memphis, TN with services beginning at 11 am.

He will be laid to rest immediately following the services at Forest Hill Cemetery -Midtown .

The family requests that flowers be sent to Forest Hill-Midtown.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Living Word Christian Chu rch at 1015 S. Cooper, Memphis, TN  38104 .
