David O''Neal Mitchell, Jr., went peacefully, at the VA Hospital in Memphis, TN, to be with our Lord. He is survived by two sisters, Cynthia Stowers of Angleton, TX; Ginger Hutcheson (Eldridge), of Pflugerville, TX; and two nieces, Stephannie Prasher (John) of Memphis, TN and Shelley Hendricks (Guy) of Hernando, MS. He was preceded in death by his father, David O. Mitchell, S.; mother, Mary C. Mitchell; and sister, Bobbie Shoults. David served in Vietnam as an Army Ranger, as a Staff Sergeant, a recipient of the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts and several other medals for distinguished service. He worked for All Metal Roofing Services for the past ten years. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m., Saturday, with a memorial service at 3 p.m., both at Forest Hill Funeral Home-Midtown, on Elvis Presley Blvd. We praise God and thank Him for his life, his heroic efforts as a soldier in Vietnam, and as a beloved brother and uncle.
