David E. Phalan, 64, died suddenly at his home in Glen Carbon, Illinois, on August 29, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hazel Phalan. David was born in Memphis, TN, on June 7, 1953. He joined Highland Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church when he was eight years old. He graduated from Kingsbury High School and Memphis State University with B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering. He was a Systems Engineer for MLG&W from 1980 to 1994. He then relocated to Illinois where he was a Professional Engineer for J.F. Electric, Inc. in Edwardsville, Illinois, for the past 23 years. He was a member of IEEE and Illinois Society of Professional Engineers.

David is survived by his sister, Judy (John) Price of Bartlett, TN; two nephews, Adam Price of Oklahoma City, OK, and Greg Price (Hollie); as well as great nephew Cole Price, all of Bartlett.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 16, at Forest Hill East Funeral Home and Cemetery. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., service begins at 11 a.m., and graveside service immediately following.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Memphis Humane Society or the American Red Cross.
