Deanna Marie Dickey Moore was born August 6, 1932 to David Myron Short and Martha Alice Walker in Walnut, Tippah County, MS. She was the 7th of nine children born to them. Moore departed this life on May 9, 2015 at her home in Dyer, Gibson County, TN. She is survived by two daughters: Deanna Elaine Sheffield (Rusty) of Trenton, TN and Rhonda Lynn Young of Dyer, TN; a son, Danny Glen Dickey (Mary) of Coldwater, MS; eight grand-children; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers: R.L. Short of Millington, TN and O.V. Short of Walnut, MS; and many nieces and nephews. Ms. Moore was preceded in death by three sisters, three brothers, a son, Leslie Myron Dickey, and her husband James G. Dickey. A funeral service will be held Thursday May 14, at 2 p.m., with visitation before the service beginning at 12 p.m. All will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home, East 2440 Whitten Road.
