Deborah Emmons Phillips, it is with great sadness that her family announces that she passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Debbie was born in Memphis, Tennessee on March 11, 1951, where she attended Bartlett High School graduating in 1969. She attended Sea Isle Vocational Technical Center where she earned her nursing degree in March 1984. Debbie started working at Methodist North on May 7, 1984 where she worked for more than 30 years earning numerous awards and recognition as a devoted nurse and caretaker. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Nathan Emmons and mother, Oleta Emmons Stewart. She is survived by her husband, John Phillips and daughter, Deborah LeAnn Cain, sisters, Diane Emmons Hoover and Dottie Emmons Jeffcoat, three nieces, one nephew and countless other cousins, relatives and friends. The visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. and a funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Hill East Funeral Home.
