Debbie Robinson, 63, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at her home in the Glenmary at Evergreen, in Memphis. Debbie was born Dec. 31, 1954 in Columbus, Miss., and moved with her family to the Memphis area in 1955. She graduated from Bartlett High School in Bartlett, Tenn., and received an associate's degree from State Technical Institute, in Memphis. Debbie had a long career as an underwriter at Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

Although short in stature, Debbie had a big heart, and was particularly fond of children and any cat or kitten that crossed her path. Debbie will be missed by hundreds of friends she made in her 60-plus years in Memphis. As her friends and family will attest, Debbie was also fiercely independent. In her younger years, no task was impossible, no hill too steep to climb. But time does take its toll.

In 2014, Debbie moved into the Glenmary at Evergreen, an independent living facility in Memphis. With her helpful spirit and friendliness, Debbie was an immediate hit, and brightened the days for the seniors living at the Glenmary, as well as staff members.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Frances Robinson. She is survived by her brothers, Elton (Stephony) and David Robinson, nephew Ryan Robinson, niece Andrea Robinson, numerous cousins and her beloved cat, Kate.

There will be a visitation and celebration of Debbie's life Saturday, August 18, from 10 a.m. to noon, at Forest Hill Funeral Home East on Whitten Rd., in Bartlett, Tenn.
