Delores Marie Craig McPeak of Bartlett passed from this life on May 9, 2026, at The Kings Daughters and Sons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 76 years old.
Delores was born on August 31, 1949, in Memphis to Curtis Woodrow Craig and Marie Macon Craig. She attended Bruce Elementary, Humes Junior High, and Northside High School, where she proudly graduated with the Northside Class of 1968.
She began her career at Memphis City Finance as a keypunch operator and later worked in various finance and tax-related positions involving data entry and office management. Her most devoted role, however, was that of homemaker, caring for her two sons, who were often illn in their early years. She made her house a second home for many throughout the years.
Though Delores was often content to remain in the background, she was frequently the life of the party - especially when gathered with her beloved Craig cousins, where the sound of her laughter would light up any room. She was a steadfast cornerstone of her family and a true example of endurance through hardship. Her life was marked by pain and struggle, yet she remained determined to persevere and to carry those she loved along with her.
Her memory will be cherished by her two sons, Alex McPeak of Memphis and Keith McPeak (Sabrina) of Wheeler, Mississippi, and her grandchildren, Gavin and Jacey McPeak and Jonah and Piper Grace.
She is also survived by her brother, Curtis Craig of Livingston, Texas; her sister, Naomi Craig Armstrong (Doug Collins); two nephews, Steven Armstrong and Austin Armstrong (Andrea); great-niece, Lizzie; and great-nephew, Will.
She leaves behind many cherished friends and extended family members, including Steve and Christy, Lee and Gary, Rosie, Jennifer, Deborah, Tiffany and Chris, Judy, and her dear friend of 60 years, Brenda Holt, and her husband, Richard.
The family would like to thank all of you for the love you showed Momma through the years—after Daddy died, and especially during these last few months.
