Dennis L. Vickrey, age 67 of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on February 23, 2024.
Dennis (Denny) worked for the Internal Revenue Service for years as a Tax Examiner before having to leave due to health issues. Unfortunately, Denny suffered with multiple health problems for years, but he remained one of the nicest people you could ever meet. He loved to be around people.

Denny graduated from Hamilton High School in Memphis in 1975 and then from Memphis State University with a BA degree in Criminal Justice in 1980.

Denny remained in the same neighborhood that he grew up in, and actually the same house, most all his life. It was the Fizer Ave. neighborhood, and it was truly a great neighborhood with great people. Everybody that lived and grew up there has wonderful memories of growing up in the best neighborhood there ever was. Denny was there with us and was part of all our lives.

Denny enjoyed sports in his youth. Not only did he enjoy them, he excelled in multiple sports. He was on the Sherwood School's baseball team, basketball team and the football team.  He also played for the Davis Park Tigers which was one of the best little league teams in the city. Denny was also an avid golfer and became very good. He played in the Memphis Publinks city tournament for years and often finished near the top while competing with the city's best golfers.

Denny is preceded in death by his parents, Hulene Cleo and Fred Oscar Vickrey, and a brother, Lawrence Richard Vickrey. Denny will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
