Deolia "Boots," Bell, 94, passed away on August 23, 2024, in Memphis, TN, her lifelong home. She was the daughter of the late Zynard Hayden Tackitt and Bessie Myers Tackitt, and was preceded in death by her husband, Joe W. Bell. and her son, Franklin Samuel Crager III. She is survived by her daughter, Robin Crager; stepson Larry Joe Bell (Diane) and family; granddaughters Aprile Benner (Michael) and Tara Olah, and great grandchildren, Cooper Benner, Julian Olah, Adrian Olah, and Livia Olah.
Boots graduated as valedictorian from Central High School and later embraced life as a homemaker. After dedicating many years to raising her children, she joined the workforce at the IRS and subsequently enjoyed working at the Flower Cart during her later years. Boots was a longtime member of Colonial Baptist Church.
A woman of many interests, Boots enjoyed cooking, gardening, and reading. She was an avid fan of the TV show "Blue Bloods" and devoted much love and care to her dogs, cats, and parrots. She lived her faith and was a friend to all.
Visitation for Boots will be held at 10 am followed by a service at 11 am on September 7, 2024, at Colonial Baptist Church. Forest Hill Funeral Home-Midtown in Memphis, TN, is assisting with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tunica Humane Society, honoring her love for animals.
