Dibrell A. Brazzel, 87, of Gainesville, FL (formerly of Memphis, TN) passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 22, 2015. He was born in 1928 in Warren, Arkansas and spent most of his life in Memphis. He and his wife owned and operated Brazzel''s Floor Covering Company for 46 years. He was an active, long time member of the Church of the Good Shepherd. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and retired after 32 years as a Master Sergeant in the Tennessee Air National Guard. He moved to Gainesville, FL after his retirement to be near family. He enjoyed chauffeuring his granddaughters to school and dance practices and spent many afternoons volunteering at Dudley State Farm in Florida. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Brazzel; son, Dr. Richard Brazzel (Elizabeth) of Gainesville, FL; daughter, Dana Strauss (Greg) of St. Louis, MO and four grandchildren: Isabel and Gabrielle Brazzel and Caroline and Gregory Strauss. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, August 28 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 29 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 1971 Jackson Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, discretionary fund.
