Dillard Thomas Newman, Jr., of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on
January 24, 2015. He was born October 3, 1934 to the late Dillard
Thomas Sr. and Lila Earp Newman of Enid, MS. He was a proud US Air
Force veteran. Dil was a devoted husband, a kind and helpful neighbor,
and an excellent gardener, sharing his flowers and produce to lift
others'' spirits. He will be greatly missed by all. Dil retired as an
accountant at Standard Construction Company. He is survived by his
beloved wife of 54 years, Alma Jen-O Vincent Newman, a sister, Cora Newman Mosier,
and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister,
Eleanor Singly. Visitation will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 31 until
service begins at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill East Funeral Home with
interment following. Memorial may be sent to Disabled American
Veterans or the charity of the donor''s choice.
