Dixie Frances Hall Oaks, 92, of Memphis, TN, retired teacher from Memphis City Schools, passed peacefully on Monday, July 4, 2016 surrounded by her family. Visitation will be 9 a.m. Friday, July 8 until service begins at 10 a.m. at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, East. Interment will be in Lowry Cemetery in Ripley, MS immediately following. She was a member of Bartlett United Methodist Church. Mrs. Oaks was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Oaks. Mrs. Oaks is survived by her sons, James D. Oaks and his wife, Helen, and Jerry R. Oaks and his wife, Rita; as well as her grandchildren, Jeremy Oaks, Michele Oaks DeVaney, Tracy Oaks Wallace, and Matthew Oaks; and 7 great grandchildren.
