Docia Lee Sturgis, 93, died March 18, 2018 with her family by her side in Memphis, TN. A visitation will be held at 1:00 pm with the service to follow at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Forest Hill South Funeral Home. She was born on January 30, 1925, in Dublin, MS, to James and Martha Cagle. She was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband (Cleo), 2 brothers, and 5 sisters. She is survived by a brother Bruce Cagle (Ruby), daughter Jean Rowton, son C. M. Sturgis (Demetria), 6 grandchildren: Lisa Nelson Otto, Richard Rowton, Chante Hatton, John Sturgis, and Tonya Mercer; 8 great-grandchildren: Alli Butz, Evan Butz, Dax Rowton, James Otto, Amber Otto, Christian Otto, Baby Boy Sturgis and Ashley Mercer; and countless friends. Docia was a faithful member of First Evangelical Church for over 60 years, a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of VFW, the Red Hat Society, and expressed her heart for service and love for people through her business, Sturgis Beauty Salon, for over 30 years. She was generous to a fault and never met a stranger. She loved to dance, to travel the world, and was tirelessly dedicated to her family. Her life served as the Fifth Gospel to all who knew her.
