Dola Nell Shelley, 98, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 at her home in Atoka, TN. She leaves behind two daughters, Terry Shelley Elrod, Brenda Powell (Bill); one son Harold Shelley; nine grandchildren, David, Tim, Cindy, Mary, Richard, Amy, Melanie, Kevin and Darren; eleven great grandchildren, Nathan, Brent, Cassidy, Lindsey, Blake, Jordan, Jack, Bailey, Max, Chris and Nick; and two great great grandchildren, Jameson and Lorelei. She is preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Harvey Lee Shelley; her parents Gordon and Molly Wroten; two sisters, Lucille Hunt and Mildred Burns; and three brothers Burl Wroten, Fred Wroten and Price Wroten.

Dola was a devout Christian woman and a longtime member of Woodstock Baptist Church. She was a very caring and compassionate person who always took care of others and put them before herself and has never met a stranger. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and cooking, even though in her words her chocolate cake aint fit to eat. She was a wonderful woman who was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 1:00-2:00p.m. with funeral services starting at 2:00p.m. at Forest Hill Funeral Home East. Burial will follow at Forest Hill East Cemetery 2440 Whitten Rd., Memphis, TN 38133.
