Donald Coleman Cooper, 82, from Lakeland, Tennessee, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, June 26, 2022. He leaves his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara Williams Cooper, his daughters Pamela (Byron) Tyler, Brenda (Chad) Berthelson, and Dawn (Ricky) Chambers. Papaw loved his nine grandchildren, Joshua (Skarleth) Tyler, Jason (Colleen) Tyler, Joel Tyler, Parker Berthelson, Summer Berthelson, Heather Berthelson, Katie (Archer) Hodges, Cole Chambers, and Caroline Chambers, and his three great-grandchildren, Leighton, Aurora, and Ezra Tyler. He enjoyed telling many funny stories about each one. He also leaves his brother and best friend, Frank (Fay) Cooper, as well as two nieces and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Tiny Sue Cooper.

Don retired from the Shelby County Government after 26 years and the Tennessee Air National Guard after 27 years. He was a proud veteran! He spent many years gardening and building things in his spare time. He also had a love for antique cars and gadgets. His favorite thing was spending time with those he loved, and he always rested well knowing everyone was safe.

Don, Daddy, Papaw will be greatly missed, but we look forward to seeing him again in Heaven.
