Donald Taylor Nunnelee, 73, died of cancer complications November 18, 2016, at Methodist Hospice Residence. Born in Memphis, Don was preceded in death by brothers Dwight Nunnelee and Floyd Nunnelee, and sister Agnes Fenner. He is survived by his wife Kay Key Nunnelee, his brothers Bryce Nunnelee and Lilburn Nunnelee, his sisters Elva Bell, Shirley Haire, Margaret Johnston, Carolyn Hand (Jerry), and Ila Jean Stricklin (Don); daughter Jennifer Nunnelee and son Christopher Nunnelee of San Antonio, TX; step daughters Dana Felkner (Rob) and April Jackson (Matthew); grandchildren Nicholas and Rachel Valdez, Harrison and Lauren Felkner, and much loved nieces and nephews. Don retired after 41 loyal years at Valero refinery. As a young man he learned carpentry skills while working for his brother Bryce. He played basketball into his thirties and then began golfing as he loved the competition. He enjoyed challenges of building his street rods, a ''29 Chevrolet, a ''32 Ford, and a ''36 Cord. He also built a ''53 Studebaker and was a member of the Studebaker Club. Don was the valuable and willing resource for the family in all things needed.We all loved him so much. Don was an active member of Crossroads Baptist Church, Arlington, TN. Service will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, East, Whitten Road, Memphis. Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 22 immediately followed by funeral services. Interment to follow at Memphis Memory Gardens.
