Donald Byron
Tredway
Jul 20, 1930 — Aug 26, 2020
On Wednesday afternoon, August 26, 2020 Donald Byron Tredway, Sr. left this earth to receive his eternal inheritance. He leaves behind his four children Donald B. Tredway, Jr. and wife Jan of Memphis, TN, Alfred S. Tredway of Salt Lake City, UT, Melinda T. Almand of Memphis, TN, and Paige T. Wright and husband Brandt of Dallas, TX. He also leaves four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Micah D. Wheeler.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Marianna, Arkansas, Donald was a character who could frequently be found telling jokes and bursting into song whenever the spirit moved. If he had his clarinet with him, which he almost always did, he would likely serenade you with a solo. He was even known to hop in and jam with a live band whether he had been invited to or not. He was gregarious and never met a stranger. His lovely resonant voice will be missed by those who knew him best. His nurse reported to his family that to the end, he was telling people about the friend that knew him best, His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Donald was a life-long entrepreneur who had his hand in many ventures throughout the years. He was a long-time member of Bellevue Baptist Church but also worshipped at Faith Anglican Church. A mainstay of Donald's daily life was listening to Christian radio, specifically WCRV. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any ministry partner of WCRV radio station. A graveside service will be held for the family.
