Dorene Holman, 99, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 in Collierville, TN. She leaves behind two daughters, Nancy Bridges (Bob), Carol Ann Huckaby (Jess); one son, Walt Holman (Jane); one sister, Alice Teague; one brother, Sam Ingram; five grandchildren, Mark Bridges (Karen), Allison Barfield (Rod), Amy Monroe (Ed), Scott Sowels (Leslie), Catherine Sowels; and twelve great grandchildren, Olivia, Josephine, Mary, Edie, Anna, Harry, Addie, Ayla, Amelia, Willa, Gillian and Augustus. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Holman; her parents, John and Lois Ingram; one daughter, Margaret Sowels; two sisters, Sarah Gregory, Ann Flagg; two brothers, John Ingram and Dan Ingram; and one son in law, Will Sowels.

Dorene was a member of several organizations including River Oaks Reformed Presbyterian Church, DAR, Story Tellers Group, the Red Hat Society and Community Bible Studies as the Assistant Director. She retired from Sears after 37 years of service. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking delicious meals for everyone, traveling to places as far as China and watching Memphis State basketball games as a season ticket holder. Dorene was a wonderful cook, an accomplished seamstress creating and making quilts and clothes for her children and grandchildren. She always had open arms to those in need and was such a caring, compassionate and loving woman. Her hospitality and eagerness to help touched so many lives.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 17, 2022 at Forest Hill East Mausoleum from 1:00p.m.-2:00p.m. with funeral services starting at 2:00p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Hill East Cemetery 2440 Whitten Rd., Memphis, TN 38133.
