Doris LaVerne Phillips, 86, went to be with the Lord on August 13, 2018 at her home in Memphis, TN.  Daughter of Rudolph and Lillian Blakey, she was born on April 13, 1932 .  Mrs. Phillips was a member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church and was retired from the Hunter Fan Company after 23 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Vickie Lynn Phillips, sister Doris Edwards and brother, James Blakey.  Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Rebecca Kagaiski (Michael) of Olive Branch, MS., and one son Steve Terry Phillips of Memphis; four sisters Helen Wart, Nancy Sowell, Betty Cook and Carol Olds (Gene), and a sister in law Johnnie Blakey.  Mrs. Phillips was blessed with one grandchild, Tina Davison (Anthony) of Olive Branch, MS. and four great grandchildren, Karter Porter, Kenzie Porter, Caylee Davison and Damian Ketchum. She was a dedicated volunteer for many years at Orpheum Theater Memphis as well as St Francis Hospital and Mc Wherter Senior Citizen Center.  She was very dedicated to serving the Memphis community.  She was a loving and devoted grandmother that spent a lot of time with her grandchildren.

Visitation with her family will be Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 5:30-7:30 pm with her services on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, East   901-382-1000.
