Dorothy Maxine Akins, 84, died August 5, 2017 in North Delta Hospice in Southaven, MS. Visitation for Mrs. Akins will be held at 9:00 Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Forest Hill East, 2440 Whitten Road, 38133. Her funeral service will follow at 10:00 Wednesday morning at Forest Hill East.

She leaves to cherish her memory 3 sons; James Akins, Jr.; Gary Michael Akins; and Kenneth Boyd Akins; 3 daughters; Patricia Dianne Christopher; Debra Ann Reeves; and Alisa Annette Kimble; 1 brother; Joe Humphrey; 2 sisters, Joanne Sprague and Helen Humphrey; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James Akins, Sr; and an infant son.
