Dorothy Mae Bishop, 72 was called home by the Lord on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. She was born on September 15, 1945 in Water Valley, Mississippi.  She is one of eight children. On February 18, 1967, she was united in marriage to John Willie Bishop of Batesville, Mississippi.  She was a seamstress by trade.  However her true calling was being a mother and caregiver.  She enjoyed cooking, being with her family, and spending time with her grandchildren.  She will always be remembered as a woman with a kind heart and beautiful spirit.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, John; her children, Kenneth, Valencia, and twins, Katetric and Lametric; her brothers, Cleveland Jr., Frank, and Randy; her sisters, Linda, and Ruby; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

The visitation is scheduled from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, August 31, 2018 and funeral service at 11am on Saturday, September 1, 2018 .  Reverend Albert Booker of Providence MB Church, Water Valley, MS will officiate.  Both services will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home 1661 S. Elvis Presley Blvd. Memphis, TN 38106.  The burial will be at New Park Cemetery 4536 Horn Lake Road Memphis, TN 38109 .  Flowers and cards can be sent to Forest Hill Funeral Home.
