Dorothy (Dot) Catherine Champion, 75, of Bartlett, Tennessee, died July 15, at the Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville.  She was born in Memphis, Tennessee on June 9, 1943. She was preceded  in death by her father, Stanley E. Craig and her mother, Dorothy Sue Craig. Dot is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Rev. Eddie Champion, pastor emeritus at Easthill Baptist Church,

One beloved daughter, Deborah Champion Frisch, (Mark) one loving son, Mark Champion, (Lisa) two granddaughters, Rebekah and Hannah Frisch, three grandsons, Caleb, Drew, and Blake Champion, two sisters, Bobbie Garner (Rev. Dearing) of Houston, Texas, Belinda Chipman (Bill) of Memphis, one brother, Butch Craig,(Francine).

Dorothy was saved at the age of 15 years in a Baptist tent revival and faithfully served the Lord alongside her pastor, husband for 57 years. She was a Sunday School teacher for 55 years; teaching teenage girls, many of whom followed the Lord's leadership for their lives and are serving as wives of preachers and missionaries in other countries or some other ministry related service.

Dorothy met Eddie who was a U.S. Marine at her church in October of 1958, and it was love at first sight for both of them. She was persistent in her prayer life and her love of witnessing to others of the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. Early on Sunday morning, July 15, the angels of the Lord gently ushered Dot into the presence of her wonderful Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

We will miss her greatly until we meet her again in heaven.
