Dorothy Jean Cox, 82, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at home with her family. She was born in Memphis, TN on October 4, 1934 to the late Virgil Eugene and Doris Whitsitt Davis. Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband, A.C. Cox; two sons, Edwin E. Cox and Robert I. Cox. She leaves behind her sister, Barbara Houston of Southaven, MS; son, John A. Cox; and daughter, Sharon (Fidel) Cox, both of Memphis, TN; four grandchildren, Mollie (Clay) Hedges of Olive Branch, MS, Danny (Kayla) Cox of Memphis, TN, Tonia and Selina Delrio of Memphis, TN, four great grandchildren, Jaylin, Elijah and Isaac Hedges of Olive Branch, MS and Arian Cox of Memphis, TN. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 1 and service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, East with interment following.
