In Memory

We are here today to remember Mrs. Dorothy Helton, 97, who passed away peacefully on September 23rd at the Life Care Center of Bruceton-Hollow Rock in Bruceton, TN. She was born Dorothy Mabel McKeown in Blue Springs MS on July 19, 1926. She was the middle child of Virgil and Ila Mae McKeown. She attended Center High School in Blue Springs, MS.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Evelyn Seger, her brother Billy Mckeown, her husband Raymond Helton and her eldest son, Wilbur L. 'Butch'Lee.

Dorothy is survived by her youngest son David Lee and his wife Rhoda of Huntingdon, TN and by her five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She enjoyed music, dancing and traveling and often took trips to the mountains of Tennessee and Arkansas. She was a waitress for the better part of her life and enjoyed meeting the people she served.

She was a member of Leawood Baptist Church of Memphis, TN.

She also had the distinction, according to records, of being the longest living member of the McKeown family. She was a rare jewel and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
