Dorothy Mae Houlder, 92, a long-time resident of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on June 3, 2015 in Peachtree City, Georgia. She was an only child born on September 30, 1922 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi. She met Clifford James Houlder of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, the love of her life, in Woodland, Mississippi. They were blessed with a long and happy marriage which spanned 63 years. Dorothy loved immensely her home state of Mississippi, her church - Gracewood Baptist, her home in Memphis, her many friends and her loving family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, fishing, watching college football games, and crocheting afghans for family and friends. Mrs. Houlder was preceded in death by her parents, McDuffy and Ida Farrish Stevenson, of Chickasaw County, Mississippi, by her husband, Clifford James Houlder, of Memphis, Tennessee, and by her son, Robert (Bob) Lewis Houlder of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She is survived by two sons, Clifford James (Jim) Houlder, Jr. of Gretna, Louisiana and Steven (Steve) William Houlder and his wife, Leigh, of Newnan, Georgia, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will start at 9 a.m. with the service to follow at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 6 at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2545 E. Holmes Rd., Memphis, Tennessee. Reverend Danny Freeman of Gracewood will be officiating. The interment will immediately follow. A reception will then be held at Gracewood Baptist Church, 8551 Getwell Road, Southaven, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gracewood Baptist Church Building Fund in Southaven, Mississippi. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on July 10 at Arbor Terrace Senior Living Community, her residence in Peachtree City, Georgia.
