Dorothy (Smith) Patterson was born on July 15, 1940, to Jack and Alma Smith in Memphis, Tennessee. She passed away peacefully at her home on December 31, 2024, at the age of 84.

The third of four children, Dorothy graduated from Southside High School in Memphis, TN. She often spoke fondly of her childhood home on Majorie Street, cherishing the memories she made there. Duringher teenage years, her father took a job in Tucson, Arizona and her family moved to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. This is where Dorothy met the love of her life, George, with whom she shared over 62 wonderful years of marriage.

After marrying, Dorothy and George returned to Memphis, where they built a life, a family and a successful business together. Dorothy was a great decorator, an avid reader, a shining example of selflessness and a rock for the Patterson family.

She is survived by her son, Brian, and daughter-in-law, Stacey; her three grandchildren, Morgan, Zach, and Myles; and her beloved great-granddaughter, Finley Kate. She also leaves behind her brother, Roger,along with many cherished nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her parents (Jack and Alma), her husband (George), and her brothers (Bobby and Jack). Dorothy was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and an inspiration to all who knew her.She lived a life filled with love, kindness, laughter and grace—a true testament to a life well lived.
